    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Headed out today meeting a very swelly sea, scuppering plans of our 5 mile bank, quite surprised at the height, would be impossible to anchor up and fish sensibly so yes back to old Corton Roads our saviour! Bit lumpy till slack water but one cod straight away with the whiting making a show as the water eased. The whiting stayed with us most of the day not as big as they have been ,few keepers among them, ended up the day with 5 cod , no flatties at all today and a surprised token pouting! Thanks to the lads for coming out today, weather was good, most enjoyable with our normal banter! Thanks to first timers on the High Flyer, John and Derek and Brian ,hope your trip was memorable, also Chalky,Steve and Len pictured, Paul,Dave, and Chris.
And from me thanks lads for washing down on way home, not many do and its very much appreciated. Top marks lads, wasnt the greatest of catches but thoroughly enjoyed your company, See you all soon, .Jon.

    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    24.01.2013.

After a short spell out of the water for a full inspection and service, the boat is now safely back in the harbour.

Everything in tip top condition and ready to get back out there!!.

I would imagine that the wrecks off Whitby will now be lifting with cod seeing as no-one has been off now for a good few weeks. If you fancy a trip in the near future drop me a line and we'll have a go.

We can reach the wrecks out on the 20 mile with a minimum of 6 anglers. You DON'T have to book the full boat and individuals are always welcome.

Really looking forward to the season this year and look forward to sailing with you soon.

    Rich.

It didnt take long for the first fish of the day to be landed to Joe. Shortly after Darren landed his first Cod of the day weighing in at around 3lb 4ozs, with another follwoing suit at around 4lb, then Dean hooked into a cod weighing in at 3lb 9oz. The fishing was steady all day with plenty of Cod being boated, Eric managed to land 4 Cod to 3lb. Again plenty of Whiting and Dabs were caught. Mick landed a lovely whiting which was around 1lb 3ozs. Totals for the day were 12 Cod with numerous whiting and Dabs.

    Tuesday 22nd January 2013 - Daiwa Trip -

Today we had Nick Hill(Diawa) bringing some local tackle shops out to try the Mersey for late Cod. These included Neil and Cliff From Taskers Angling Liverpool and John from The Fisherman Bait and Tackle Birkenhead.

We left the marina at 8am and headed up the river to the first mark of the day. It didnt take long for the first whiting of the day to come aboard and a first sea fish for neil who normally fishes for pike. Cliff followed suit shortly after with a dab. Nick wasnt to be outdone and landed whiting in quick succession. The first cod of the day came after about half an hour to neil which weighed in at 4lb 9oz. Plenty more Cod were pulled up until we decided to move. We headed to another mark in the river which also produced fish. With Neil pulling in more Cod, aswell as Nick and John. More whiting and Dabs were landed until it was time to head in.

The total for the day was 14 Cod to 4lb 12oz, plenty of whiting and plenty of Dabs.

THE COD ARE STILL HERE DESPITE REPORTS FROM OTHERS.

  • 01/2013 Fishing Report by Dave Elliott on Ocean Warrior 3 (Brighton, East Sussex)

    Jan 2013 by Dave Elliott

    Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3

The weather has not been great lately but we have managed to get some fishing in. When we have got out, there have been some nice double figured Pollack around on the offshore wrecks. There have also been a few Cod starting to show, which is great to see. The bigger Cod should be starting to show more as we progress into February and through to the beginning of March.

This is Simon from Essex with his good sized double figured Pollack, caught while 'gilling' over a wreck using a sidewinder lure.

Here is hoping for some fair fishing weather to get some good catches. If you fancy a day out wreck fishing give Dave a call on 07966 377145.
