A rather large Northerly swell greeted us this morning with a light breeze from the North West over it. Not the comfiest of runs out or the best of conditions but again the lads produced the goods!!
Cod, ling and the odd pollock falling to the shads and the fresh squid all day long on the exact same mark as yesterday. Bonus again!!
Polish Daz from Nottingham taking the best ling of the day at 16lb with some nice cod to the 10lb mark as well. He ended up with a nice box of fish for himself.
Les Patrick from Driffield also managed a good box of cod to share amongst the family.
The forecast is looking very good indeed again for tomorrow so hopefully we'll provide the goods again for the lads.
Pictured is Polish Daz from Nottingham with his best 2 cod of the day.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Shy-Torque III

Report on-board Duke IV
Busy time here at Ramsgate with the summer species moving out and the winter Cod, Skate and Whiting moving in. The Doggies will stay, keeping you busy so plenty of action to be had.

The Hounds are heading South now passing through our area nicely fattened up on summer crab, they will be here with the Bass for some weeks yet.
With the water becoming more coloured plenty of bait is the way to go so load up the hooks with worm, squid and herring for the Skate.
Sids group from Essex enjoyed Sunday aboard Duke IV catching lots of fish with Sean sorting out the better ones including the 8lb 12oz Skate pictured.
From November we are offering 6hr fishing trips aboard Duke IV, any day for just £300 for the boat so plenty of time to get amongst the Cod & Skate but not too long to get cold. Some weekend dates still available just call or email to book your trip.

We locked out of the marina todady at 5:15am. Headed out of the mersey to try a mark. Dropped the anchor and were immidiately into whiting. Plenty of whiting were brought aboard in the first hour. Then we had the first cod of the day. Which was 3lb. After this we had 2 more cod there and then decided to try for some rays over slack. We moved across the river and dropped the anchor again. It didnt take long for the dabs, whiting and doggies to start feeding, with lots boated. Then came the first ray of the day falling to Mike which weighed in at approx 5lb. A few more rays were caught around the 4lb mark until Geordie Mark boated his PB Thornback Ray which weighed 10lb 10oz, and another PB Thornback for Paddy.
Another move across the river resulted in a few more whiting and doggies along with 2 more cod . We then moved down the river onto the bank and had a few more cod to 3lb. Plenty of whiting around the 1lb mark.
Overall a cracking day with a good bunch of lads. Looking forward to seeing you all next time.

We locked out of the marina at 4:15am, and headed up the river in lovely conditions with the 3 Graces fully illuminated. We got to the first mark and dropped the anchor. After Sorting the guys out, everybody got down to fishing. It didnt take long for the first whiting to be pulled aboard. Shortly after this the first cod was pulled in, which weighed about 2lb. As the sun came up plenty more whiting and were pulled in. We decided on a move as slack was approaching and headed further out of the river for thornbacks and and dabs over slack. Within 5mins of arriving the first thornback was boated at 5lb 7oz, plenty more followed with more dabs, whiting and doggies.
The decision was made to move back down the river to go for cod again which we did. Plenty more dabs and whiting were pulled in. Total Cod for the day was 3, partly down to the amount of freshwater in the Mersey at the moment.
