I fished with Gwyn Andrews last week on board Goldilocks Charters and had one of the best days fishing for a long time.
Nothing big but plenty of fish coming aboard all day. Lots of whiting dabs Huss mackrel, ECT
Great skiper, and most helpful to some of the novice anglers on board I am an ex international boat angler
so I only recommend top boats and skippers and this is one I highly recommend

  • 29/07/2012 Fishing Report by Rich Cope on Mistress (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

29 Jul 2012 by Rich Cope

    Report on-board Mistress

Today on Mistress we had a mixed party which consisted of mainly novices, many of whom had never fished before.

We worked ground today with mainly shads, and by the end of the day I was pleasantly surprised to see what we had caught. The rod average on the boat was easily over 10 fish per person, with many fish thrown back too. No big ones today unfortunately but the crew made up for it with numbers of fish.

another great day afloat with a top bunch of people, well done everyone.

Heres a pic of the lads and lasses with a few of their catch.

Don Matthews had a good day on the Conger, with over 40 caught on the day. The biggest of the day was caught by Jamie Hancock with one at 60lb.

We also had some big Ling showing in their 20's - the biggest being 26lb 5oz, caught by Steve Garner.

We are still catching Cod and Pollack with the Black Bream just starting to show.

    Report on-board Mistress

Another day wrecking today. Only three lads showed up this morning but I went to sea anyway. The day started slowly due to a fresh breeze behind the tide pushing us along at a fair old rate of knots! We managed a few fish until the tide eased, but nothing spectacular.

Once the tide eased though it was a different story, I got the lads on bait and they were instantly into the Ling, with the odd Cod thown in for good measure.
we had a couple of good hours that produced plenty of fish for everyone.

Best angler today was regular lad Dave Nixon. He wont bait fish, he loves shadding, he persevered today despite only catching around half a dozen fish. The fish he did catch though were all stonkers! Not to mention the one he lost back into the wreck which I would imagine would have been into the 20's. his four best cod were 14lb 8oz, 12lb, 10lb and 8lb, Dave was delighted with his fish and also setting himself a new PB.

pictured is Dave with his two best fish of the day
