It was raining hard for the first 2 hours of our journey but many cups of tea and the excitement of a good days angling was enough to keep morale high.
The day just got better and better !!!
Steve Walters from Eastleigh who had been requesting to catch Bass for weeks had his dream come true as he caught 11 Bass, the best weighing in at 11lbs. Tim the crew had his work cut out netting the catch and looking after the lads !
We caught 26 all together with a box of Polluck ,the best weighing in at 14lbs.
As the the wind picked up we headed for home.
A good day out enjoyed by all. -

WE arrived at the marina at 7.15 am to be greeted by Tom and the trent lads. We loaded their gear on and proceeded into the lock. Whilst we where locking out into the Mersey, we discussed wheather they wanted to have a day Tope fishing and general bottom fishing or proceed some 35 miles out to a group of wrecks that we have to try our luck for cod on. The lads came back with buckets of shiny perks and wrecking gear so there was no question what they had in mind for our day. We told them that it would be about 1 hour 45 to the 1st wreck. When we arrived at the 1st wreck, i explained that Daz was in training so i was going to let him do 1st drift, so if he got it wrong that they would have to be patient. Daz set the boat up for the 1st drift and with in minutes the lads where shouting Fish on. Dave our other crew for the day was netting fish all over the boat with 5 or 6 cod landed on the 1st drift. We tried various marks and produced cod to 8.5lb, Ling and Pollack in total we caught 10 different species during the day. We had to drift of the mark so the lads could have a brew and dinner overall a good day.
We will be seeing the lads again soon

It was a fantastic day , as where the other three that week, but this day really topped it off with the best smoothound fishing i have ever seen ! With just Skipper Aaron, regulars Chris , Alan and myself onboard, loads of sunshine and hardly any wind ,buckets full of crabs, loads of cups of tea and the normal banter - what more do you want ?

We where into fish soon after anchoring up , the smoothies giving some fantastic sport with the od cod(ling) and ballan wrasse joining in on the crab menue ....we had 23 smoothound on board , lost 1whilst neting it and had at least another 15 hooked which we lost - all in all a fantastic result !
I will put a video of that day on you tube the next few weeks so that everybody can see the fantastic sport we had .
I highly recommend Bad Boyz and Bad Laz from Angleseycharterfishing , the Skippers Aaron and Mel do their absolut best to give everybody onboard a fantastic time ,always finding the fish - thats the reason why i have been going out with them for 14 years now - i rate it as the top boat in Holyhead !
Many thanks lad's and tight lines !

The well thought about North Wales Smouth-hounds have provided us with some fantastic sport and plenty of them.
With the best so far only being 18lb 7oz falling to skipper Aaron the ellusive 25lb's yet to come to the net but reports and pictures off a fellow angler in the local tackle shop showing a beaut at 26lb 6oz caught on the 4th June from his private boat is a sign that it only takes that one crab to hit the rite spot to find a Welsh Rocord Hound.
With 23 hound being our best day out so far and being caught with only 4 anglers on the boat this could have been a 50+ day if it were a full boat ( or if we didnt lose so many ha ), With Holyhead living up to its reputations for its brilliant Smooth-hound action we have yet to venture out to Holyhead deeps to try our luck on some summer tope but fingeres crossed the weather stays settled to have a go this weekend if we can tempt the lads to try for them instead of the hound but who is complianing when the sport is so good.

Report on-board Seren y Mor
Fished today with a group of lads from the Bridgend area and at last the wind has eased leaving us fish where we want to not where the wind lets us ! Mackerel were a bit thin on the ground first thing so rather than waste time looking for them we got the anchor down. Plenty of Smoothounds and Bull Huss came aboard on the rough ground followed by some Tope and more Bull Huss in the deeper water, quite a lot of Gurnard, Tub and Red showing also. I`m sure if the weather holds the fishing will only get better.
