    Report on-board Bad Boyz VI

Thursday 30th june saw us sail at 10 on a wreck and reef trip unfortunately once we rounded the breakwater end it was a bit lumpy North stacks looked evil so we decided to anchor up for a couple of hours and wait for the tide and wind to drop off.
Anchor on the first mark produced Dogs, Codling, Whitting, Dab, Grey gurnard, Tub gurnard and Dragonets.
After 2 hours not much had changed in the way of the weather so we had a move on to some mud to target a few other fish and after half an hour we added Spotty ray and Plaice to the species list whilst the weather had started to drop off and then we decided to have a few drifts over an inshore wreck which a flying collar rig with a large Ragworm droduced about 10 Pollack to 5lb after this the wind had died off and allowed us to push round to South stacks were we saw plenty of mackeral for bait and within 10 minutes of stopping we had more then enough for bait and for the table so we started the steam out to an offshore reef with Pollack and Codling being on the agend.
We arrived at the reef about an hour before slack water and the tide running perfect which saw 3 Pollack to 6lb out of 4 rods, We only had time for an hour of fihsing untill we had to start the steam back in but luckily the fish were playing today after the hour we had over 20 Pollack between 3 to 9 lb but only a couple of small Codling.
The day was finished with an hours steam back to port with a big bowl of hotpot for every one whilst a few pics were taken and everything filleted.
Best lure of the day were Storm Sandeels but biggest Pollack fell to a whole squid.
Once again well done to the lads from Hull and only being back a few days from a dissapointing Pike trip to sweden they all left me with full cool boxes and big smiles

    Report on-board Ruby-D

    26/06/11

after an early rise, 7 of us meet at 5;00am to make tracks to portishead from north devon on what we hope is a succesful fishing session,
the journey up was very foggy, so fortunate enough we left early to account for weather and traffic, we arrive at the harbour at 6:30 and
set out from the harbour for 7;00, first things first the skippers makes a nice early cuppa for us,for the journey to our first mark,
conditions were slightly overcast with very slight breeze, we felt confident!!! we get to our mark withing 30 mins of leaving harbour,
anchor up,and youve never seen people bait up so quick, and the fishing starts, first 30mins was very quiet but the cloud cover was starting
to clear which bought a few smiles, then first fish of the day turned up, a thornback of around 6lb, great start. within 2 mins of releasng,
bite number 2, up comes another thornie, funny enough it was the same fish we just released (he must have been hungry), then all went quiet
for another 30 mins, bite number 2, fish tor off, felt a good one, up come the first hound of the day, weighed in at 13lb 7oz starry,
we thought things were going to take off now,but unfortunatly not, couple of dogs that was it. so skipper decides to pull up anchor and move
further out, baits go down, bites came more or less instantly, with a couple of doggies, then a strap eel, a nice codling next rose to the
surface (yummy), with another cuppa going round the boat, things were starting to look up, weather was getting hotter and hotter, wind had dropped
then the smoothys starting biting, with a total of 16 hounds been landed with the smallest being around 9lb, there was a 15lb 4oz common, 14lb starry,
13lb 7oz starry, 13lb starry, 12lb starry, 11lb common, and a couple smaller. with several conger also landed due to the rediculous size baits being used,
so by the end of the day had been a brilliant session, we had one last caSTand another codling decided to show, great way to finish the day. we must say
that skipper and his crew done an excellent job with keeping us full of tea and helping with th netting and unhooking all of fish all day.

booked up again for another trip later in the year, hopefully can repeat the session if not better it.

Catch report:- Richard weston 15lb oz common, 13lb 7oz starry, 2 smaller starry, 1 codling, 1 thornback.
Stefan jones 13lb starry, 4 smaller hounds, 1 thornback, 1 doggie.
Adam sayer 4 eels, to low doubles, numerous dogs.
Marcus horrell 14lb 9oz starry, 2 smaller common, several dogs and eels.
John cardew 12lb common, 11lb starry, couple of dogs
    Graham harris lots of dogs
kevin peach 12lb common, 1 smaller common, several dogs

Report on-board She Likes It Rough 2

The End of June has seen some superb fishing off the Suffolk coast.
The ground fishing has been some of the best we have seen for years, The run of smoothounds has been fantastic, on most trips landing well over 25 fish per trip. The size of the hounds this past week has been good with at least 10 double figure fish landed each day if it didn’t look over 12lb we did not even bother weighing them! On the best day we had a 16lb 8oz, 17lb 8oz and a 25lb 8oz.
The bass fishing on the ground has improved our best day last Fri saw us land 7 Bass all between 4-6lb along with 20+_hounds 6 pack tope and 3 Roker to double figure not a bad day for just 5 anglers!
Sunday again saw us ground fishing with two fantastic fish landed for bill Hutchings party. Best fish of the day was a toss up between Bills Roker at 18lb 3oz a massive fish for this time of year, Or a 11lb 8oz bass caught by Steve on his first ever fishing trip!
Bills party on Sunday landed 24 Hounds 8 pack Tope, 1 Bass and 5 Roker all in just 6 hours fishing well done all
The last couple of trips have been offshore wrecking with good numbers of cod and Pollock landed our best day on the Pollock was 24 fish up to double figures who says there are no Pollock in the North sea!

29 Jun 2011 by Aaron Smith

    Report on-board Bad Boyz VI

Another weekend of poor weather watched our boats fish in Holyhead bay.
The bay is producing plenty of Codling, Dabs, Dogs, Whitting, Pollack, Coalies, Wrasse, Bullhuss, Gurnards, Spotted rays and a few Thorny's ,Blondes, Mackeral, Ling, Rockling, Sea Scorpion, Pouting, Poorcod, Goby for when you species hunting.

Tuesday the 29th With perfect weather and a perfect tide we decided to to head around to South Stacks Reefs to try our luck, once arrived there was plenty of Pollack, Coalies, Wrasse, Codling and Mackeral coming up so we stayed around for a couple of hours to fill up on Mackeral for bait and a few fish for the table.
After trying a few more areas which was still producing the normal suspects we then steamed offshore to try a few Reefs and Wrecks with the tide easing and after a few drifts over the first mark it produced and few Pollack to 8lb and Cod to 6lb we headed to a wreck a few miles further which produced a few more Pollack to 6lb we decided to stick the anchor down for the last hour to try a few big baits not far from the side of a wreck.
After 15 minutes all hell broke loose with almost every rod bending over double and battling away the first Spurdog came to the net closely followed by 7 more Spurs then a couple of Tope and Bullhuss came aboard.
With time running out we had to up anchor and make our way back to Holyhead and with everyone tucking into a nice bowl of hot pot we totaled the days fishing and with a big success to only catch 2 Dogfish !
Looking forward to the Wrecks and Reefs again on the 30th!

Fished today with Chris Chawro`s party from Stourport on Severn. Weather perfect to start (for a change) light SW winds and sunshine, though it did cloud over in the afternoon with some drizzle. After trying two different marks the Mackerel came aboard in good numbers with enough for the day being caught in 10 mins. At our first mark the Smoothounds came to the boat in decent numbers with novices Rich Carter and Matt Turton getting amongst the hounds, at our second mark Dan Chowra stole the show with some nice Thornbacks, back to our original mark for a last go for the hounds were Steve Todd finished off his catch of 6 hounds with a nice fish of 15lb 4oz. An enjoyable day with the boys also catching Dabs, Bull Huss, Gurnard, Turbot and Tope.

Hi Everyone, Summer is finally here. The shark season exploded into life last week with Murray Collings (Swallow) catching the first three sharks in one day. Since then, all boats that have been on shark fishing trips out of Looe, have all been sucessful in catching, including yours truly, on Saturday 25th June (my first shark trip of 2011). Caught three sharks in total, including one of just under 100lbs (!) and missed a fourth. I would suggest that if you haven't booked your fishing trips yet, get dialling!! See you soon! Regards Pete
