Short anchor session closer to home in the afternoon, Spurdogs once again were hectic!
Few lads stuck at it with feather, boating plenty of good sized Grey Gurnards and Mackerel.
Good session in challenging conditions -

on Just Mary (Christchurch, Dorset)

Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All, with the lovely calm and hot conditions continuing we are able to push offshore on the Neap tides and yesterday afternoon found us three miles South of the Jurassic Coast on the 32's. After Mackerel in the morning and a few Rays in close we pushed South for the afternoon. Using fresh mackerel and other frozen baits we landed Undulate Ray, Congers and Tope for a mixed group of 'own gear' and 'hire rod' Anglers. An enjoyable day in good company and in glorious weather with flat calm seas only interrupted by the Gin Palaces that seem to want to get as close to us as they can without paying whilst wasting enormous amounts of fuel ! Long may the weather continue.....and the fishing.....ta Malc

Fishing Report by Jonathan Law
on Privateer (Rhyl, Denbighshire)

Report on-board Privateer
In the last week the weather has again been excellent, catches from the port have also been excellent. On the larger tides there have been plenty of good Tope about. The Ray fishing is very very good, all the fish are fat and large with most now into double figures and plentiful. On Privateer we have had a mixture of species and this week even with the small tides it gas been possible to get interest off the Tope so there are a lot about. Some huge mackerel being taken amongst the usual fish and Gurnards also being taken on feathers. Largest weighed fish this week on my only trip were Tope : 41-02 and Thornback Ray : 13-06 with Huss mostly un weighed to about 13lb.

Another good day onboard Size Matters from Plymouth.
Between 10 anglers they caught,
93 Pollack to 11lb,
21 Ling to 20lb 8oz,
16 Coalfish to 6lb,
3 Megrim to 1lb 8oz,
1 Conger 25lb,
1 Cod 5lb,
And yet again a good old Sunfish about 30lb!!
This was the first time I have seen Megrim caught on rod and line.
They where caught on lures while drifting over the wrecks.
As for the Sunfish we catch them pretty regularly on orange jelly worms when they are on the surface .
The rest of 2018 is fully booked from Plymouth but I have 4 days available for 2019 from Plymouth.
July 17th, 18th, 31st,
August 21st,
These dates are available for whole boat only charter in 2019.
Thanks
Kevin Mckie
