Report on-board SWN Y MOR
May I wish all my customers and everyone a merry Xmas and a good new year. 2017 has been quite a good year with loads of large tope along with other species during the summer and autum. The mackerel appeared at Amlwch at the end of march till beginning of December. A very good year for them. The wrecks of Amlwch always fish very well loads of pollack COALFISH and cod with better fishing this year with clearer water. Less plankton bloom. Hope to get better weather to get to wrecks in new year. Will be satisfied when getting more than 6 fish per drift which is usual for us. My prices for 2018 will be as usual realistic . All the best cheers Roy

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank all my new and old customer's for the support through a tough wind swept 2017 and our first of many to come Winter Cod season's from Liverpool. ( And the professionalism, Welcoming and help of all the skippers in Liverpool)
We have seen some brilliant fishing when the weather has allowed us out, The offshore wrecking was superb with double figure Pollack one after the other along with some lovely Ling to 18lb.
Holyhead Deeps as ever rewarded us with some amazing spurdog fishing only 25 minites from port along with all the reefs to and from for the ever sporting Wrasse.
2018 we hope to be running Isle of Man and Ireland trips from 3 to 5 days, Days further south down the Llyn Peninsula to Bardsley island for reef and sand bank sport for Bass, Pollack, Cod, Wrasse and Tope.
So there we are we finish 2017 with a tremendous new boat and a new winter port! The mighty Evolution 38 is proving a massive hit with all whom fish aboard her for comfort, space and speed, something that will be greatly appreciated on those long journey's out to the wrecks. ( and the heated wheelhouse)
So here's to a Jolly Christmas and a prosperous New Year, Good fishing to all -

Fishing Report by Kevin McKie
on Size Matters (Craobh Haven, Argyll & Bute)
Dec 2017 by Kevin McKie
Report on-board Size Matters
Over the last three weeks fishing in the Mersey we have been catching up to 15 sizeable Cod to 9lb 8oz, loads of Whiting and Dabs per trip. The fresh snow melt and rain water in the river has knocked the cod fishing off and it hasn’t been as good as last year. We fished the Queens channel on two of the trips to get away from the fresh water and to find where the cod are holding up. Sadly this just resulted in lots of Dogfish, Whiting and Dabs. There was that much fresh water coming down the river the tide was still ebbing 1 hour after low water on a spring tide. With more trips booked to fish the queens channel, I decided to fish the Mersey on the spring tides and this involves keeping just out of the main flow of tide so the anglers baits where fishing effectively. Thank god I made the right decision, in just the last two days we have been catching a good stamp of cod to 8lb 4oz with most 5lb to 6lb. The good thing to see was most of the cod where fresh run fish (very light brown in colour) this mean they are moving in to the river from off shore and all the fresh water has gone. Now this could be the start of our cod season. There was still plenty of whiting and dabs to catch if that’s your sort of thing. We also lost a few better fish not monsters but good fish, over the next eight weeks it is prime time and your best chance of catching a double figure Cod on the Mersey. Sadly we are fully booked until January 16th and I don’t normally do reports if I am fully booked but I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my Anglers/Customers and friends for their support and keeping me in a job that I love doing, in fact it’s not a job it’s a way of life.

Fishing Report by Lewis hodder
on Pegasus (Lyme Regis, Dorset)
Dec 2017 by Lewis hodder
Report on-board Pegasus
Winter has finally arrived as far as Boat fishing is concerned in Lyme Bay on the Inshore trips the Bream have finally moved on although we were still catching lots of good sized fish right up until the end of November. Channel whiting have moved in, in numbers, to replace them with lots of fish being caught in the 2lb bracket. A few thornback and undulates rays and plenty of dogfish also coming to the boat. We even had a spurdog of 16lb only a couple of miles from Lyme Regis which is a first for me!
View Boats Page
Offshore anchoring is producing a few Blonde Rays on the banks and Spurdogs, Huss, Conger and Undulate Rays on the rougher ground.
Wrecking has been great so far in December with lots of fit and healthy hard fighting Pollack coming to the Net up to 17lb and the occasional Bass up to 7lb.
We will be continuing right through winter Wrecking for Pollack, Inshore for whiting, Rays, Conger, Huss and the odd Cod and Offshore grounds on the neap tides for Spurdogs, Rays, Conger and Huss. -

Fishing Report by Rich Ward
on Shy-Torque III (Whitby, North Yorkshire)
Dec 2017 by Rich Ward
Report on-board Shy-Torque III
After a very steady days fishing yesterday, the lads today absolutely creamed it !!
View Boats Page
Perfect conditions for working a couple of wrecks just 45 minutes from the harbour, the lads couldn't believe their eyes when the fish started coming aboard in doubles and even trebles at one point !!
Glen Nichols from Nottingham used a "Hartlepool horror" baited with squid and had us all amazed with double hook ups on several occasions (that's doubles on one lure) Glen ended up with a slack box of fish for himself.
Top rod on the boat today was regular Shy-Torque angler Simon England who had a good box of fish ( 7 stone ) himself, working the shad all day long.
Young William Thompson (11) and his Dad Richard from Oxfordshire had a great day too and with our team of 4 from Norfolk, Malc, Steve, Andy and mad Jacko adding a good box and a half to the count I reckon we would have a combined 120+ Cod boated with loads of smaller fish returned too.
A fun filled day for all with plenty enough fish to keep them going over the Xmas period.
Tight lines as ever
