Report on-board Dawn Venture
Hi everyone...
View Boats Page
thats the boat back in the water and moored at portpatrick ready to start fishing from 27th march 2017.There have been over 70 different jobs done and now she is ready to go!
The most notable addition is 3-D downvision sonar through a Raymarine Dragonfly unit and the results are impressive. We have also fitted a massive cree LeD light on the mast for asisted working on the gloomier days or early nights.
Bookings are now been taken for this year and there will be a concerted effort to catch a common skate bigger than 200lb for those who fancy your chances....last years biggest was 192lb.
We also broke (unofficially) the Scottish boat records for Bullhuss(21.25lb),Smoothound(15lb) and Spurdog(20.25lb)
Hope to see new customers this year who will hopefully experience the full potential of portpatrick and those of you who are revisiting,I look forward to meeting you again.

Report on-board Mistress
The last few trips have been chucking a few cod up for the Mistress anglers here at Whitby,

We're still averaging a good few fish for our anglers to take home each trip, with what sometimes seems like hundreds of little undersized ones to throw back, which is a very encouraging sign for the up coming year, were also starting to see a lot of very clean fresh run fish too.
We've been continuing with our night trips too just fishing a tide, again with our anglers managing a few for the pot, these trips have been popular with the lads having to work during the day, meaning they can get out after for a fishing fix with a chance of taking a few fish home for their efforts.
Best lad last night caught 10 cod with 8 to keep all over 40cm.
Black lug, squid, cart and mussel all doing the business still.
With a week or so of settled weather we will be thinking of venturing out the wrecks very soon to see of the water has cleared enough to extract a few!
Give me a call on 07977 436903 or message me at seafishingwhitby@hotmail.co.uk to book a trip,
The phone has been quite busy this week with the better tides now starting to fill up.

Report on-board Brigand
A blowy February left us with few opportunities to get out so it was fantastic to be able put in some miles over the weekend. Great to have Pete and his friends aboard to celebrate his birthday and they worked hard all day to get land some fish to go with their keg of beer - hope it went down well guy's!

Weather was murky Sat so radar nav all the way out and fog only lifted at the back end. Some quality fish brought aboard, best of the day went Paul Bowen with a Pollock just over 14lb (that clearly did not want to leave to the wreck), Petes's gentle persuasion and our Masterline gear won the day.
Sunday was a different affair - wrecks that had seen gin-clear water the day before were coloured (it really was a case of "you should have been here yesterday"!) so we headed out and out and out again until we found the fish. Almost 100nm covered in the day (loving the 560HP new Boat!) until eventually we got amongst them. Some excellent anglers aboard and their patience was tested, thanks for hanging on in their guys and really look forward to having you back.
Weather is looking snotty this w/end but great in the build up so if you fancy getting out mid-week give me a call.
Best wishes
