Report on-board High Flyer 2
Well nearly end of Jan 2017, this month has been to say the least extremely hard cod wise. I hate to think of my carbon footprint if i was that way inclined as the miles i have done when weather has allowed is astronomical. No matter where i have been i can honestly say we have caught whiting of all sizes you just cant shake them. I havent bothered taking any more pictures of them how many strings do you want to see on the website! So looking forward its been reasonably cold last couple weeks fingers crossed we ought to see something soon or at least a spring codling run , if not were back to waiting for the return of the spotty dogs accompanied by the skate round about March when weather breaks then were away again. So would just like to mention big thanks to everyone who still supports us even though the fishing has been tough here all down the east coast its very much appreciated hopefully change is in the air. Anyone interested in a midweek trip Feb 6th onwards let me know got few ideas if weather allows as tides will be right nice and slack will be doing bit of distance. Until then tight lines people ,

Sorry not been keeping up with the reports will do better so here we go, took a small party out on the 18th January 2017 for a sports fishing day on the Bass, the catch of 18 bass was taken over a 4 hour session all fished were released alive in excellent condition, the best fish a12 pounder fell to John on the first drift as the tide started to make, we had another couple of fish close to double figures with the remainder around the 5 to 7 pound mark all fished were photographed before being returned, but only John's fish was weighted before return as a marker -

Report on-board Obsession
Where do I start !, the weather has not been kind to us recently but when we have been able to get to out to Sea its been very successful with lots of hard fighting Pollock coming to the boat.

Most of the fish coming up have been in the 10 to 12lb size, but on the more recent trips the fish coming up are between the 12 to 18lb with several fish going 19lb and this beauty caught by Jason Turner going over the magical 20lb Mark, what a fantastic fish. This one was caught on a 2" snow white Bazinda Lure.
Also on one of our first trips of 2017 we had a surprise visitor which was a 50lb Porbeagle shark which took a whiting on the way up which the lucky Angler Ellis managed to land on 15lb class gear after an epic battle.
The Pollock season is now in full flow but usually peaks around early February and then starts slowing down toward the end of the month after all the spawning activities have finshed.
So for some fantastic hard fighting Pollock action give Kev Wyatt a call on 07964 053347, as Brixham is the true home of "Biguns and Whoppers". -

The month started well with plenty of cod and whiting coming out but with the freshwater from the snow melt coming into the river it slowed the fishing down.
We ventured out on to the Banks up through the Rock Channelling for cod but only managed Whiting we still had 4 double figure Cod the best being released to live again on another day Micky and Ian battled it out for the pool both with double figures fish see pic below -
