Report on-board Bessie Vee
The Bess had her first shark trip of the year on Sunday 21st August, with six fishing. Weather was fine, so pushed out to 16 miles, where we started the drift. Within 10 minutes of getting the lines away, we had our first blue on line, which managed to swim round and bite through the main line, so not a great start!

However, before being able to re-rig the rod, we had another run resulting in a clean hook-up, this one a 50lb-er.
Once all six rods were back out, and we thought we had time for a cuppa, we had three on at once. Luckily, one dived deep, one went forward and one went aft, so we were able to play all three at once. No whoppers, (30 - 40lb), but good sport.
The day went on to produce another ten blue shark, the best of which was battled and caught by Guy (see pic). Fourteen blues on one day set the record number for the Bessie Vee - so far! The same group will be back next month to try again.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Bessie Vee

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
Some fantastic weather this last couple of weeks here at Whitby. The fishing has been very good indeed with some nice catches of cod and ling being landed on the Shy Torque III ( see catches section ) .

The big ling have started to poke their noses out again!! This last week seeing two over 22lb on the boat. Both fish being caught on the rough ground.
This stamp of fish is easily big enough to win any competition held here at Whitby !! The next one being the September competition which starts on the 10th Sept and finishes on the 25th Sept. Big cash prizes again in this comp lads so give me a ring if your interested in grabbing a "grand" before the end of the year !!
Hope your all having a great years angling wherever you are.
Pictured is Konrad Kiernozcki on his maiden trip on the boat with a 22lb 8oz Ling.

Report on-board Supanova II
Hi all,
View Boats Page
A while since the last report.
Fishing throughout July and early August has proved a little tricky at times! Although catches have still been pretty steady.
The Bass have been very slow in showing unfortunately but over the next set of spring tides we should hopefully see their return in some reasonable numbers.
The breaming on it's day has been superb, wit fish quite frequently in the 3-4lb bracket, with an angler on another Weymouth boat taking a fish of 6lb 1oz just three days a go!
The plaice fishing has been superb on the mussel beds with many fish of specimen size. July- October is the time to get a big Plaice. How many places can you go in the country and be in with a reaistic chance of a Plaice over 6lb's?
The shambles and other sand banks to the west of Portland have continued to produce Turbot and Brill with some sessions producing up to 20 fish!
Among the reefs sport is continuing with masses of Gurnards, Good Huss, Tope and Congers.
The wrecks are fairly quiet, with most boats sticking to the more productive inshore fishing, however those venturing out are finding one or two cod still lurking around, odd pollack and bass. The best of the wreck sport has been on the anchor with some good congers to 70lb the odd ling and some monster bream!
The next month should hopefully bring better numbers of Bass and Bream, continued turbot and brill, and hopefully the long awaited rod bending blonde rays!!
Tight lines all!

What A trip! non stop banter all day.
we left the marina at 9.30 am to head out in search of Cod. We headed out over the Bar and after sailing for 30 mins Ian(Captain Ahab) decided to make an offer to Neptune for a safe passage which was last nights curry, I turned round to ask if he was ok to see three or four phones filming him, i thought how cruel. The lads settled down for a while with Ian rushing to the side of the boat again, to give some more offerings to neptune. He later explained he was ok until the lads let him watch himself making the first offering on video. Any way back to the fishing. We tried a couple of marks which produced Pollack to 9lb and Cod to 6lb, Coalfish to 5.5lb pouting and mackerel.
A great day had by all.
We cant stop ourselves laughing with some of the jokes they were playing on each other.
