Report on-board Duke IV
Dear Bob
View Boats Page
Thank you so much for all your hard work on the 21 July 2011. It was the best day's sea fishing I have had in many a long year. I don't think I have seen so many cod caught on a single drift since the late sixties and early seventies, and that continued for most of the day.
The Duke IV is certainly an excellent comfortable boat and your skills at finding the fish were first class.
I had a wonderful time and was totally exhausted at the end of the day, but it was a trip I will long remember.
I shall certainly look forward to the next trip with you.
Many thanks and best wishes

This has given us the opportunity to head offshore. On Wednesday Gary landed this 10lb 14oz Bass on a chunk of fresh mackerel intended for a Thornback Ray. He was'nt too disappointed!
Today we headed offshore again to the wrecks this time with a group of individuals, Danny had a number of Cod & Pollack landing the best of both species! All the anglers landed plenty of quality Cod and Pollack along with a couple of Gurnards and Bass so a good day had by all on Duke IV. -

100+ Cod a day upto 15lb . Long days, hard work but rewarding !
A lot closer to shore the Tope fishing continues to be some of the best sportfishing in the country.
No B *#^shit see the pictures.
For a more leisurely day the Bass fishing is still amazing. Catches are up on last year with some proper biggies showing.
Keep it tight,
Dave. -

The inshore reefs are producing plenty of Pollack, Coalies,Codling, Ballens, Cuckoos and Mackeral whislt the slighty deeper reefs around 4-5miles off are seing plenty of Pollack and Cod from 3lb to 12lb.
Manage a couple of days out to Holyhead deeps this past weekend with different results both days, one producing only a couple of Tope and Spurdog to the next day being crazy with Tope, Spurdog and Huss and during slack water ATEMPTING to catch Whitting and Mackeral for bait was a total mess becuase of the amount of Tope attacking the fiss on the feathers.
The inshore banks and mud troughs are fishing well for Spotty,Thornback and blonde rays and plenty of the usual suspects from Dogs, Dabs, Whitting, Codling, Huss, Red gurnard, Tub gurnard, Grey gurnard and a odd Plaice.
Big tides and mixed weather this weekend but we did manage yesterdays trip for Cod and Pollack with very good results up to 8lb but todays weather was not the best but we fished locally in the Holyhead bay which produced the normal suspects. -
