Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
The weaker tides along allowed boats to venture out to the deeper marks but we choose to go hunting the bigger bream off the Purbecks which in hindsight was not a good move as we were catching Bream in good numbers before we decided to go for the big fish, we anchored a usually prolific mark off of Dancing Ledge only to catch small Bream, dogfish etc the only good fish we had was a 13lb 4ozs Starry Smoothhound for Mike Lee a new PB. The next couple of trips produced many Bream for the anglers who missed many more as the fish were not in a feeding mood. to the credit of the anglers 95% of the catch was returned. I have plenty of individual trips coming up for Bream and Cod trips so please call for more info

Weymouth Angling Breaks -
A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour and in Weymouth Town centre.
If you want to try a Weymouth Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting.

With the sun beating down on us and not another boat in sight, we set off to try to not only get big hounds, but Tope in the mix.
Well we got to the mark just at high water, so we got rigged for both species.... and after about 15 minutes the tide just started trickling out, and as the anchor rope tightened the first hound hit a rod, sending it into a frenzy and the first fish was on, this was a decent fish of around 7 lbs, then Paul Nichols responded with a real rod bending, reel screaming, take....well Paul is a seasoned angler, and he was his cool self, and just let the fish tire itself out, until she came to the net then it was game over... the fish was on the deck..!! after photos and weighing the fish it was released as was every fish boated today, great angler, great guys we always look forward to seeing Paul and the crew.
Sadly the two rods fishing for Tope, didn't get a single run... but hey ..!! that's fishing...
I will post a photo of Paul's 17 lbs fish......enjoy..

Report on-board Gwen-Paul-M
Pollack on the offshore wrecks took some finding on Sunday but after a few wrecks were fished we found good steady pollack fishing to 6 lb. A few coalfish to 3lb were also caught. Inshore we are starting to see plenty of species, including, whiting, dabs, gurnard, dogfish, bull huss, codling, pollack, weever, herring and a few mackerel. Fingers crossed that the weather eventually plays ball and becomes a little more predictable.

Report on-board Bad Boyz VI
Fishing this last week aaboard Bad Boyz 2 has seen some fantastic fishing out in the deeper waters off holyhead deeps along with the first wrecking trip of 2016.....
View Boats Page
So what's coming up?
Holyhead deeps on Sunday alone produced 50+ spurdog to 19lb6oz / 10 tope to 27lb and 70+ bullhuss to 14lb along with a thronback Ray of 6lb which was a welcome surprise.
A few inshore 4hr trips recently finally saw the first mackerel of the season boated although it was only a lonely 8! Shallow reefs are producing small numbers of wrasse, pollack, coalfish and codling on the drift up to 3lb.
The first wrecking trip of the yesterday... We don't usually start till early June but a few regulars wanted to try there luck so a trip was out together to see what we could find!
6 wrecks 100 miles later and smiles all round with the amount of Pollack coming to the boat nothing of much size mostly 3-6lb but for so early on it was a great day all round ( one could say perfect pan size fillets )
So another couple of weeks and the channel wrecks should really be coming Into there own with the large hard fighting Pollack we all love to catch. -

Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All, to keep this short and sweet this weekend on a 3 hour Stag Party trip from Swanage we had seven Novices on Saturday. Everyone landed a selection of fish including two Double figure Undulate Rays, both female as the bigger fish always are, two Spotted Rays, Numerous Doggies, some good Smoothound, a 3lb Bass that was returned and Bream. Everyone caught so everyone happy ! On Sunday despite the forecast being 'a bit off' with more Sea and wind than expected we stuck with Plan A and went three miles South of the Jurassic Coast. A group of ten Singles/Individuals landed Double figure Undulates and Smoothounds plus Tope. Also Doggies, Bream, Gurnard and a small Conger. No fresh Mackerel so all on frozen or Calamari or Ragworm as bait. My latest Star is Gabrielius who is only 8 years old who pulled up a 14lb male Undulate from 120 feet with much encouragement from all onboard. He was fishing with his Dad Arturas and a party of Lithuanian friends from London, East 17 and was brilliant all day in his efforts to land fish. Only get limited opportunities to fish these good Neap tides and we took it with both hands. Everyone did well in the conditions and we managed some 'Personal best' fish with the London party on Hire Rods. Thanks to All onboard and see You All again soon, All the Best, Malc, 'Just Mary', Poole, Dorset.

orkney skate trust data was used to approximate fish weight
