Some of the fish caught on today 6 hour trip
Again a good mix of cod, pollock mackerel and billet also the usual big wrasse which were returned as normal
Jo was on fire today pretty much getting a fish every 10 mins
Out newly designed Shads have been fishing really well for the last few days which is always great to see hopefully we will have them mass produced and on our tackle website to purchase very soon.
We have spaces on our 8 hour trip tomorrow for anyone who is interested in some inshore fishing.

When I bought Size Matters from Graham Hannaford back in March 2016, he give me a very old survey book full of marks for rough ground, rock and wrecks that he had never been to or looked for. With over 40 years wrecking experience behind him he said to me if you have the time try and find these new marks to fish. On Friday I had a group of individuals onboard who booked to go wrecking for the day using artificial lures.
I told the lads I have been so busy sharking and Conger fishing that I haven't been Pollack fishing for over a week so it mite take a while to find a the fish. I decided to try and look for one of these new marks, straight away I found it a very small structure on the bottom with a very good sign of fish about 200ft up tide of the mark. From the first drift we where into Pollack sometimes up to 15 fish a drift. The lads finished the day with 119 Pollack to 8lb (most where 3lb to 5lb), 3 Ling to 12lb, 1 Cod 13lb and a cracking John Dory of 6lb 8oz.
What a cracking day fishing for the lads and they couldn't thank me enough on the way back in after filleting all the fish for them.
The next morning I told the lads onboard what we had caught the pervious day, they said it's going to be one of them, YOU SHOULD OF BEEN HERE YESTERDAY DAYS! How wrong they could of been, it was even better the lads totally 134 Pollack to 10lb with most being 4lb to 8lb. I was filleting fish In between drifts and on the way back in just to keep up.
The lads where so happy with the trip they booked six charters with me for next year and said they have not seen Pollack fishing like that for over 10 years. On both days I fished 4 new marks and they all had a very good sign of fish on them. The best thing about both days was we where only 1 hour 30 minutes away from Plymouth so the lads had maximum fishing time. Over the next few months I will keep looking for more new marks and trying my best to keep this standard of fishing up for my anglers.

Well - we left early, came back late, moved around the banks and put in the miles but it was not a great day by our standards. Just four Turbot landed in very trying conditions - Fishing a Spring tide, on the flood with a building Westerly was always going to be tough. On the upside; a cracking Tub Gurnard taken by Frank, more monster Mackerel, some beautiful Turbot and great company who I look forward to welcoming back in a couple of weeks for an improved outcome - you guys were great!

The shark fishing from Plymouth is in full swing, if you are booked on with us over the next two months for sharking then you are in for some cracking fishing. Back in March when I was guiding in Norway for Sportquest, on the first week the lads I was guiding where from Manchester they caught loads of Cod to 65lb. Once they knew I could put them on the fish they started asking me about sharking from Plymouth. I told them our best day last year was 54 Sharks in a day, so they booked two days with us. On the first day we left the harbour looking for mackerel and straight away we seen birds working. I stopped the boat told the lads to drop there feathers in and up come strings of school bass about 30 in total. All returned alive, then they started to hit a few mackerel once we got enough for hook baits we where off to our chosen mark. The lads had never been sharking before so it was all new to them. They caught 18 Blues to 64lb, sadly no big ones that day but they had a good time and learned a lot. Next day I decided to try a new area, the lads knew what to do and they caught 24 Blues to 99lb 3oz and one baby Porgie about 10lb. The lads totalled 43 Sharks over two days, that's good fishing anywhere in the UK. The lads have booked a day Conger fishing with us in September, so watch this space.

This week we landed our 1st Trigger fish of the season and it fell to young Charlotte who went on to land 2 more much to the annoyance of her father, the fishing has been steady with some good Rays and Tope caught when you can get to the banks. Plenty of Plaice and small bream are being caught along the beaches and in the swash channel. One big surprize whilst fishing the Poole Harbour entrance just 100m from the ferry Tom who was fishing for Plaice thought he had hooked the bottom until 'it moved' after struggling to move it on his light tackle an Undulate Ray of 16lb 6ozs came aboard. This is one of the biggest fish I have heard of being caught in the entrance for many years.

Nice day afloat with a good mixed bag of fish, Huss, Congers, Smooth-hound, Thornback Rays, Dogs, Whitting, Pouting, Pollack, Ballan Wrasse, Cuckoo Wrasse and Mackeral.
2 Tope lost unfortunately, 1 to a line snap and second to poorly hooked.
Nice to mix things up with drifting over sand, Something boats don't seem to do to often this side of the coast!
Back to being weathered off again tomorrow ����
